Born and raised in Alexandria, Louisiana, Robert learned the value of hard work at a young age. He spent summers and breaks working on a farm that his father managed and enjoyed helping his grandparents on their property.

Before attending Louisiana State University, Robert worked for a construction company which focused primarily on bridge and roadway layout. This is where he found his interest in surveying.

Throughout college, Robert worked for a surveying company performing rural boundary and topographic surveys.

After graduation, he worked for a small Surveying and Engineering Firm in Baton Rouge. Here, he managed projects both in the field and in the office and earned his Professional Land Surveyor’s License.

Robert is married to a Ville Platte native. They have a daughter and a son and are glad to be a part of this wonderful Parish.

In May of 2013, he created Robert L. Stevens Land Surveying, LLC.

Robert is very active in the surveying community and served as a board member with the Louisiana Society of Professional Surveyors from 2015 - 2019. He also currently serves as a Subject Matter Expert for the Louisiana State Surveyors Exam administered through LAPELS. He keeps an active Surveyor’s license by obtaining his Professional Development Hours.
